Talking Politics 2020

Visual Design | Email Marketing | Live Event Moderating

Talking Politics: Anthropologists and Linguists Analyze the 2020 Presidential Election brings anthropology and linguistics experts together in a public webinar series focused on the intersection of language and culture in political communication. This graduate student-led initiative was the brainchild of Wee Yang Soh (PhD student and Linguistic Anthropology Lab Coordinator, University of Chicago), with leadership support from Velda Khoo (PhD candidate, University of Colorado Boulder).

As a member of the Talking Politics Organizing Team, I developed the series’ visual identity for application across the event website, promo graphics, and email marketing campaigns. I had primary responsibility for delivery of digital graphics for powerpoint decks and social media posts for each of the 5 webinars and closing Final Colloquium. I also led email marketing design and strategy to align with conversion and audience development goals, which were set in collaboration with the lead organizers.

In addition to visual design and email marketing, I was host and moderator for the 30 October 2020 webinar, Talking Politics with Jonathan Rosa (Stanford Graduate School of Education).
